NEW DELHI: 102 Not Out’s film director Umesh Shukla mounted a story in a unique way to express a bond between a father and a son through cinematic approach. Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor came together after a span of 27 years to share screen space again which is a ecstatic occasion for their fans and cinema be lovers. The duo will be seen in an inspiring upcoming film 102 Not Out, which is an enduring concept based on a Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play. The content of the film gives you a refreshing narrative about a 102 year old father and his 75 year old son who lives together alone in a city like Mumbai nagri. The story of the film gives you a message of a societal and as well as mankind norms.
The duo of the biggest stars in an Indian Bollywood industry, Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a 102-year-old Dattatray Vakharia who enjoys his life to the fullest whereas his 75-year-old son Babula, plays by Rishi Kapoor who is basically a silent spectator of his father’s doing and doesn’t contribute much into life’s adventurism. Both father and son didn’t have much in common, Vakharia(Bachchan) lives his life on his terms and conditions whereas his son Bapula(Rishi) remorse’s about past life that makes him a grumpy old man. The origin of the film gives you a glimpse of the 70’s and 80′ s Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Basu Chatterjee movies.
The story unveils with the fact that Dattatray Vakharia wants to breaks the records for the oldest man in the world, held by a chinese man in the film who lived till 114. His son doesn’t take part in today’s healthy lifestyle so to change his life into meaningful one, he comes up with an idea to make him do some challenging stuff. The film basically revolves around the father and his son’s relationship. Both Bachchan and Kapoor created an immense chemistry and did pure justice with their roles.
