Farmers Protest 2018: Announced another challenge for Govt.”Hunger Strike” and “Jail Bharo Andalon by farmers..!!

NEW DELHI: After battling against the governmental system, close to 35000 farmers finally call off their long march protest when the Maharashtra government mostly agreeing towards their demands. It is one of the positive sign for all the farmers who were willing to stand up for their rights by protesting a long march from Nasik to Maharashtra.

Farmers covered almost 200 km long distance on foot over five days and reached at Azad Maidan in Mumbai by 7 am in the morning so that the commuters and students who were having their board exams should not face any problems due to their “Kisan Long March“. This small gesture touched many hearts and people came together to support them in maximum numbers through different platforms. The march consist of landless labourers, tribal farmers, youth as well as their family members who are indulge in the farming activities.

The protesters demanded the full waiver loan policy(Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sanman Yojana) for those farmers who don’t own land and fair price for milk and crops. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis held a three hour long discussion meeting with the leaders of AIKS(All India Kisan Sabha) and the farmer’s wing of CPM(Communist Part Of India-Marxist). The Maharashtrian government stated that “We are positive on the demands of the farmers. We have set up a six-member cabinet committee to discuss their demands,”.

Thousands of farmers came barefooted and slept on the pavements at the roadside which gain immense knowledge and support from other people. Even many mumbaikars specially students and many activists also joined in their protest against loan waiver. 

Farmers hoisted their red flags against the problems that arises during crop failure in large quantity due to unconditional weather and poor rainfall conditions. They also want a better system in agriculture department where they get their fair price amount for their crops as well as proper loan facility to small scale labourers.
