NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi, Vice President Of Congress Party was attacked by group of people during his visit to flood affected region in Gujarat on Friday. He visited the affected areas in the region of Banaskantha district of Gujarat while some protesters came in the middle to hit his car by stones. Gandhi’s vehicle was brutally smashed by stones whereas breaking its rear glass when he was on his way from Lal Chowk to the helipad in Dhanera.
Police informed that Gandhi escaped unhurt from there. He left the place in a rush after his short speech for flood-hit survivors when protesters gathered themselves to showed black flags.
“Narendra Modi ji, slogans, black flags and stones will not deter us…We will put in all our might into the service of people,” the Congress vice president tweeted, targeting the Prime Minister in his home state. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stated, “Political violence has no place in a functioning democracy.”
The Congress party members blame BJP for this malign act. This attack severely created a storm amongst political parties with blame games by opposition and the ruling party.There are an individuals from both the parties who held their obligatory statements in front of media to restore their stand of stateship.
“BJP goons attack Congress VP Rahulji’s car in Lal Chowk, Dhanera, Banaskanta, Gujarat. Disgusting and disgraceful,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said in a tweet on Friday.
“Jayesh Darji is the secretary of Banaskantha district BJP Yuva Morcha. He is the man who threw the stone at Rahul Gandhi. We have also submitted names of three more persons who conspired along with Darji to throw the stone at Gandhi’s vehicle,” said district Congress general secretary, Prithviraj Kathwadia.
Another senior Congress leader Anand Sharma said that, “we have seen challenges and ups and downs. We will stand, speak and fight the BJP-RSS agenda and defend Indian democracy.”
Atlast PTI informed that the man who threw stones on Gandhi’s car has been detained. The arrested person certainly belongs to BJP youth wing which will be held under police custody after FIR lodged by Congress party.
