NEW DELHI: Ganesh Chaturthi is the festival celebrated by Hindus across the world in honour of Lord Ganesha On this day, devotees pray to the God for prosperity and unhindered new beginnings. Also known as ‘Vinayak Chaturthi’ or ‘Vinayaka Chavithi’ the festival is celebrated during the Hindu month of Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September), ending on the 14th day of the fortnight, called ‘Ananta Chaturdashi’.
Lord Ganesha is one of the most beloved gods which is known by 108 different names in our Indian culture. He is considered to be a symbol of good fortune, wisdom, prosperity and wealth. This festival is celebrated with an extreme devotion and joy in many states of India and even outside the country. Maharashtra, Goa, Kerela, Tamil Nadu are some of the cities that have been home to these celebrations since ages.
There are many eminent set ups of Public Pandals and Ganesha idols installed by communities where people come to worship the lord and enjoy the grandeur of this auspicious celebrations amongst people.
