NEW DELHI: Legendary Superstar, Dilip Kumar, 94, admitted to ICU at Lilawati Hospital in Mumbai after suffering from a kidney ailment and dehydration. He is accompanied with his wife Saira Banu. After getting treated on Thursday morning, doctors informed that the actor is stable now. Actor’s family friend informed that, he was suffering from fever for two days also suffering from slight dehydration. Dilip Kumar has been prescribed complete bed rest from past two years because of his severe weakening health issue.
Dilip Kumar known for his super stardom that came from early 50’s in the era of black & white entertainment filming. He began his career from the film Jwar Bhata in 1944, which is not able to charm audience at the box office. But after few several unsuccessful films, he starred in Jugnu in 1947 with Noor Jahan which become major hit in the film industry. Then after that, he never step back in his film career and gave his best shot in different genres like Naya Daur, Babul, Footpath, Kranti, Karma.
He taken lead in his career when big-budget epic historical film Mughal-e-Azam won million hearts. Dilip Kumar’s role as a Akbar is the highest grossing film in the time of inflation. He also plays double role characters in the film Ram aur Shyam in 1967 which plays a major role and creates immense effect on silver screen.
Dilip Kumar known for his brilliant performances and record breaking history in Indian cinema. He holds several achievements in his records which includes Guinness World Record for winning the maximum number of awards by an Indian actor. He received many awards through his record breaking career, including 8 Filmfare Awards. He was honoured with Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.
