NEW DELHI: Miss World Title, one of the most distinguished and fashionable event held every year which serves the idea of “Beauty with a Purpose”. The pageant officially started in 1951 by Eric Morley as a bikini contest which was initially get popularized amongst press and later BBC started broadcasting the event. This pageant is all about intelligence and personality of a women who belongs from different regions across world. After waiting for 17 years, India’s Manushi Chhillar crowned as Miss World 2017 at a pleasing ceremony in China.
She is a 21-year-old, elegant and gorgeous lady from Haryana who claimed the title against 118 countries. Chhillar is the 6th Indian women to win the pageant crown, which was first won by Reita Faria in 1966. Aishwarya Rai swiped the Miss World title in 1994, followed by Diana Haydon in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000, which was the last one for India.
Manushi Chhillar completed her schooling from St.Thomas’ School in Delhi and now currently pursuing medical science at the Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College for Women in Sonipat. She is also a trained dancer in Indian classical form and has passion about bungee jumping, paragliding, scuba diving and painting. She wants to become a cardiac surgeon. Manushi’s family flew all over to China and gave her full support and strength to perform her task and gain a prominence stage.
By having such a renowned title, you have to initially understand the responsibilities comes under your way. Chhillar aims to open a chain of non-profit hospitals in rural India to contribute towards society. Chhillar also tweeted about her win and how she is overwhelmed and proud at the moment. Celebrities and Politicians took twitter to congratulate her and how it is a proud moment for every Indian..!!
President Of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted Chhillar on social media to wish on her achievements..!! Other politicians made their comments on Twitter to send wishes..!!
