NEW DELHI: Triple Talaq, the most questionable issue for many societies specially women who is easily got affected through this procedure. Triple Talaq mainly defines that any muslim male to legally divorce his wife by saying “Talaq” word for three times in verbal, written, or more clearly electronic form like whatsapp or facebook. This triple talaq itself arise many series of acknowledgement towards gender quality, secularism and human rights.
In India, this practice was legally permitted and practised divorce form that is unconstitutional under Indian Constitution and stated that the triple talaq is derogatory and discriminatory for muslim women’s. The bench of five judges of different faith Chief Justice JS Khehar, Justice Kurian Joseph, Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman, Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justice S. Abdul Nazeer – heard the case over five days from May 12 to May 18. The proceedings started when seven muslim women submitted their petition over triple talaq by which they got divorced by their husbands.
The Supreme Court, said on Tuesday, that the triple Talaq practised by muslim men to get divorced instantly by saying three words is unconstitutional, unworthy, deteriorating custom. The court strikes down triple talaq as by 3-2 verdict, saying it violates the Article 14 of the Constitution and it is irrevocable and instantly marital ties get broken and violates the human rights. There are many people of different morals shows their right over the decision and held as faithful and truthful towards society.
